A Big Kitchen Renovation Check-in At Nathaniel's Home!

Updated: Oct 12, 2022

This project was one of the most fun and equally challenging projects I've had the pleasure of completing. It was our old kitchen a year ago, those two photos are the same angle and it feels so spacious and so much lighter and brighter and exciting. I think part of the reason this decision was easy for us to design and make was we were planning on doing kitchen renovation.

Here's another angle:

The new kitchen is about 13' x 17'. Which feels luxuriously roomy- we're hoping to include a casual breakfast area by the windows, too! Large kitchen island with quarts countertop gives more contemporary look.

Inspiration for a cozy transitional-classic marble floor with stainless steel appliances, and under-mount sink, white grayish mosaic tile backsplash, elegant pendant lights , white quartz countertop and shaker cabinets.

But before that, there are a few things to figure out, including how to work around the sunroom that runs through the breakfast wall and how to make it all look good. I will show you another angle of the new sunroom when its time.

Phase 1 -Demo

A dream kitchen is a lot of pressure and a lot of money and it only makes senses to hire someone that has literally designed hundreds of kitchen. As for the breakfast nook that is going to the sunroom maybe in the next phase. We're going to share more about the addition sunroom because I need to get some proper photos, but here's the before.

Phase ll - 3D Rendering

So, when you're feeling off or even flat out discouraged during this pandemic- take a look at this renovation and remember we'll get through this too. With a little prayer, a little optimism, creative thinking and a wonderful community.

Phase lll - Countertop Selection

Picking up a countertop in the kitchen is so fun because every slab is unique. There were maybe 10 different stacks of Carrara throughout their warehouse each with up to 10 slabs. The veining on most was very soft and subtle.Initially we thought we'd put the soapstone on the island and quartz around the perimeter. But I couldn't shake the thought that this would create a little darker look with soapstone countertop with gray cabinets in the kitchen island.
